People are always planning ahead, trying to decide what they will do next and how this will benefit their lives in a positive manner. Here at Centre High School, we have a group of 15 outstanding students planning fun activities to keep the school close together and reach high standards. You know this group as your Student Body Council.
I talked to Tye Remy, the sponsor of the Student Council, about plans for the coming year and where we stand on the new bell system as to whether a change could be seen. When asked about plans for the coming year, he says “Student Council has certain things that it does every year. One change that we are looking at for this semester is that we are going to bring the Olympics or something such as that to Winter homecoming this year.” In the email, Tye states, “The administration has made new decisions about the bell over break. I would think that it is unlikely for there to be a change in the near future regarding the bell. It would be hard to get a change when there was quite a bit of work put into changes in the passing period bell over Christmas break.” Student Council had many thing they wanted to fulfill but were not able to and here is why: “The schedule during the first half of the year was not one that allowed Student Council to meet effectively as often as was needed. With the addition of seminar, Student Council is looking forward to being able to meet on a more regular basis. Momentum in certain projects seems to be picking up and we are looking forward to an effective semester.”
Centre students will have an exciting year to look forward to. Spring is approaching and with it comes lots of activities and other school events. Let's have a great last semester!
