The end of a frustrating start of the season happened on Friday night as the Centre boys won over Rural Vista with a score of 51 to 46. They played an exceptional game and the crowd was on fire. Even with questionable calls from the officials, the team was still able to pull through. It only takes two people to start a pep section, and I am so very glad that Connor Montgomery and Barrett Smith did so. Head Coach Greg Wyatt wanted “to thank the cheerleaders, pep club, and the crowd tonight for the energy they brought to the game as the boys fed off that energy and gave it all they had.” The atmosphere Friday night was something that hasn’t been seen for a very long time. I’ve heard comments from faculty and students that stated it was like the old days and they were happy to be involved and ready to bring the Cougars to victory. Congratulations to the Centre boys and good luck in the Cougar Classic Tournament.
